We visited the book cart we started (with help from many friends and family) at the hospital where they were born. So many nurses came by to thank us and to tell us how much use the books get and how much they are enjoyed. After three years some of the books have 'walked away,' hopefully to be loved by families who needed some good books. Though the library is currently in good condition, there are no more books in reserve to add. We welcome donations of new or new-condition hardcover children's books to add to the library in honor of Ellery and Olivia. They are used by children visiting Labor and Delivery, the Family Birth Center, or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, usually older brothers and sisters of new babies who spend days, weeks or even months visiting the hospital while their moms or siblings are patients. Books in Spanish or Russian are also welcome additions to the mainly English-language collection. We will cover any books we receive in library covers, add bookplates with Elle and Livi's names, and take another batch over at Christmas time. We're happy to receive books for the Emanuel library at anytime.
A list of the books we already have is available by request.
A list of some books that have been lost and we'd love to see replaced is at the end of this post.

happy birthday to the girls. I love reading about the book cart, too - what a lovely thing to do in their memory.
