Book Cart Update

Here's Clara enjoying the bounty of donations for Ellery and Olivia's book cart at Emanuel Hospital. You can find out more about the book cart and how to donate books here. We are thrilled with the replacements as well as some awesome new additions. Our friends Ryan and Gehan sent us some well-loved standards as well as this crazy book Ryann and I read when we were younger called 'The Magic Bubble Trip." Hilarious. Clara was very happy to see a copies of her favorites 'Knuffle Bunny' and 'Pass the Celery, Ellery' in the stack of books from Grandpa Duncan and Grandma Margie. And Grandma Karen let us pick out some new titles--we welcomed the gorgeous book for older kids, 'Moses' by Carol Boston Weatherford (Caldecott Honor illustrations by Kadir Nelson), Caldecott winner 'Flotsom' by David Wiesner, a Palestinian Folktale called 'Tunjur! Tunjur! Tunjur!," a beautifully illustrated new toddler favorite "Moon Plane" by Peter McCarty and Amy's and my favorite in the new lot, 'Traction Man is Here' by Mini Grey. Really, it doesn't matter what age you are. Go ahead and put a hold on it from your local library--you won't be sorry! It's one of the funniest books we've read in a long time. It's great because it has a strong appeal for boys while still being a great book for everyone. We are humbled and thankful for the support of our friends and family, and we know the kids at the hospital will be thrilled!
