This is Clara's new favorite book. Not because she wants to make the recipes in it (though every so often she'll see a photo and say, "Mmm, this looks delicious! We should make this!"), but because it has a lot of capital letters in it. Which means we hear a lot of this in our house:
"Mama, what does C-H-E-F-S spell? And S-U-P-P-E-R?"
You know my little teacher heart swells up to bursting when she does it! So cute! We're having a little trouble with I, J, U and X, but otherwise I think she can read all her capital letters. Not that it will be that useful to her at school next year where they teach lower case first, but oh, well. We're pretty excited anyway! So a big thanks to Lynne Rossetto Kasper, who probably did not know she'd be a great early reading teacher in addition to inspiring good cooking.
