We took Clara to see a free performance at one of the local libraries of scenes from the Nutcracker by a youth ballet company. She's the kind of kid who likes performances--puppet shows, plays, etc., but this was something different. She stood in line for almost an hour with a big grin on her face, announcing "We're waiting to see the Nutcracker!" every few minutes. During the performance she was completely mesmerized, sitting up as tall as she could on my lap and watching every move. She was very concerned whenever a dancer left the stage, afraid it was over. Guess we should start saving up to take her to the full Nutcracker in a few years!
