Phrases

Clara has been experimenting with stringing words together for awhile now, things like "up the stairs" and "see Sa barking" when she wants to go see why our neighbor's dog, Neusa, is barking. Today she pulled out a few surprises, though, that were so much fun to hear. We were reading 'The Carrot Seed' and after I read "The little boy pulled up the weeds around the seed and sprinkled the ground with water," Clara turned the page and said very clearly, "Nothing came up." (Granted, the text said "BUT nothing came up," but pretty close!). Later in the day she mysteriously disappeared around a corner and when I came after her found her playing in the cat's water dish, which she knows she is not supposed to do. She ran away when she saw me saying "No, no." Then she came back with a hand towel in her hand. "Sorry 'bout that," she said as she knelt down to clean up the mess. Too funny. Last night she also sang "Happy Birthday Grammy" to my mom over the phone while sitting in the bathtub, almost in tune, even! :) Little person singing is pretty adorable.

Strange to have her demonstrate these little indications of maturing on the very day that her mama went to visit a PRESCHOOL. Hard to believe it's time to do that already, but many of the Montessori schools have multi-year waiting lists, so we had to get started on finding a place for her in fall of 2008. Filled out an application and everything. I am soooo not ready to think about my baby someday too soon being three and going off to school!

Clara is so beautiful! And the phrases are so very grown up. Jack hardly has 10 words at 15 months.

Would love to hear from you when you have time. RememberingHope@hotmail.com

Love to you all,
