Clara's newest love is the apple. She recently started making strange hand gestures while reading a Richard Scarry book out of this box of my childhood books she explores daily. We finally figured out she was signing "apple" by making a fist and turning it back and forth against her cheek. She points out every apple in the book and does her sign, saying "ap, ap" all the while. Some friends brought a bag of apples over one morning and she spent days packing and unpacking the bag until she finally graduated to taking bites out of an apple each day. Here she is, our little 'ap' eater.
