Picnic

Clara's favorite thing to play, many times a day, is PICNIC. She calls out "Pick!," asks for help placing her picnic cloth on the floor, decides who to invite, then sets out her cups, plates, and some play food. Today's guests were baby, bear and cougar. Every day Clara makes "hot tea" for her guests. For awhile I couldn't figure out why she kept putting the felt potato chips from her picnic basket into the cups--I thought she just liked to serve the chips that way. Amy filled me in, however--Clara helped her make tea for me one morning and that afternoon she started putting the felt pieces in the cups, telling Amy they were the tea bags! She stirs each cup with a spoon and serves. We think the whole thing is pretty sweet. :)
